My wonderful Maggie

Magggie was a purebred mini schnauzer whose owners left her at a shelter because they were moving and did not want to take her. I adopted Maggie 13 years ago. She was my first dog. I hired a trainer to come to the house to help me with walking her, barking, etc.She was a wonderful dog. I had a doggie car seat in my car for her, We walked together every morning. She got regular vet checkups and grooming. Anyone who saw her said she was a beautiful dog. She was my sweetie pie! Her last few years she began to develop health issues, stage 1 kidney disease, melanoma in her mouth, issues with her hips, blindness, etc. She went to vet on a regular basis, he monitored her health issues. As she began to decline, she slept more, started losing weight, etc. Maggie and I would sit on the sofa together, she one one side of me and Bella, my poodle mix, on the other. Both of their beds were in my bedroom so I could keep an eye on them. The vet visit in November 2020, the vet suggested she be put down as her health issues were escalating, the melanoma had grown to be hanging out of her mouth, etc. Sadly I agreed. I have her ashes on my mantle. I am now looking for another mini Schnauzer, She had a great personality and was great company. My other dog, Bella and I miss another dog in the house. We are ready to give another dog a forever home full of love
