Hi, I'd like to tell you about Zoe (formerly known as Greta when I adopted her). I found her from the Schnauzer Rescue of the Carolinas in 2009. She was 3 years old, rescued from a puppy mill where she spent her first 3 years tied to a barrel and forced to have litters of puppies. When I found her on the Schnauzer rescue website I was told they had never seen a dog more "damaged". She would bite anyone that came near her and it took her foster parents quite some time to be able to even pet her. As soon as I saw her picture I was in love with her and finally, after several months, was able to adopt her. She had a wonderful 7 years with me before she developed transitional cell carcinoma (inoperable) and she just lost her battle with this awful cancer on 9/21/16. I have never been more heartbroken in my entire life...I can't express the extent of the grief I feel in losing this wonderful friend. I am now trying to find another mini schnauzer to fill this void. My other mini is also grieving over the loss of his sister. She was a gift from heaven. (Zoe is the white one in the picture). She is survived by Max)
