so adorable
by: Cheryl Bellmore

Do you have any more females; puppy and also toy? Actually any age. On the rescue sites I have only been finding 7 years old and above. That's a little two old for me especially since I just buried my precious little girl at 12. I want one that is gonna be around for a while.

Adopt don't Shop!
by: Anonymous

Actually, you all should be ashamed buying from these backyard breeder/puppy mills. There are many, many amazing dogs waiting to be adopted in the shelters. All breeding should be suspended until the overpopulation is taken care of by adoption, not euthanasia. All puppy mills need to be shut down.....

Liver mini

I actually own a liver colored mini that is AKC registered and DNA confirmed. She may not meet the breed standard but she is no less a pure bred.

by: A Mini Lover

Wow Anonymous, rude much?

As the owner and lover of a pure-bred Miniature Schnauzer, I take offense to your high and mighty, holier than thou attitude. Is it not your precious AKC that requires the brutalization of days-old puppies with ear and tail cropping? Isn't this done for no other reason than esthetics?

Doesn't your precious AKC encourage the breeding of only the "best" dogs, resulting in closer and closer lines being bred? Isn't this why so many Minis have hyperlipidemia, hip dysplasia, and ear and eye problems?

You make it sound like only dogs that fit your narrow definition of what a Mini should be are worthy of adoption. According to the AKC, there are dozens of standards a Mini must meet to meet the standard. Just a few:

Size - From 12 to 14 inches - so, a Miniature Schnauzer that is 15 inches tall, by your definition, is NOT a "true" Mini?

Eyes - Small, dark brown and deep-set - A Miniature Schnauzer with eyes deemed "too large" by the AKC is now not a "true" Mini either?

Head - Head strong and rectangular, its width diminishing slightly from ears to eyes, and again to the tip of the nose. The forehead is unwrinkled - And now a Mini with a wrinkly forehead is no longer a "true" mini?

You seem to be a bit of a pompous snob, and really need to get off your high horse. I am ecstatic with my Miniature Schnauzer and love her even though her forehead is wrinkly. Just because a dog doesn't meet your definition of perfection doesn't mean it's not a purebred.

And you're also dishonest...
by: Anonymous

Speaking of ignorance, you don't seem to have a grasp of basic grammar, spelling, or punctuation.

You do advertise them for sale because I went to your site and I googled your name. You do have puppies listed in dog classifieds on other sites. You are a liar - I know that much about you. No, not all breeders advertise their puppies on the internet, classifieds, or anywhere else. Many good breeders have long waiting lists for their pups simply by word of mouth. I've spoken with several breeders and can't get my hands on one of their puppies for several months to a year or more - and they don't advertise anywhere. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see your are indeed a "backyard breeder". If you need help understanding that, look it up on Wikipedia. You're not even a very *good* backyard breeder.

No, I don't think my dog is the best. I don't have one at the moment. I am looking at rescue possibilities and if I don't find the right Mini there, then I will purchase a PUREBRED puppy from a *reputable* breeder that adheres to the Code of Ethics (a set of standards for which you've already stated you have no use = backyard breeder). I will purchase a top quality dog that has come from a long, long lineage of quality stock that will represent the breed standard. And I probably won't pay that much more than what people will pay for the gloried mutts that you are pedaling.

You may pass off that *look for the mutts in the show ring in the next 5 years* but to anyone that has done their research, they know that's been a common selling pitch for decades! There is a very small possibility you may one day see whites in an AKC confirmation show ring but you will NEVER see the other unacceptable colors because they ARE NOT PUREBRED MINI SCHNAUZERS! I feel sorry for all the people you swindle with your ***!

More..
by: Anonymous

And of course the fact that you're advertising your puppies for sale in various places on the internet shows you aren't a reputable breeder! I went to your website - if you're going to pass yourself off as a breeder, you should at least know a bitch is a DAM, not a DAME! Sheesh! Use some of the money from your next inferior puppy sale to buy a dictionary! Once you do, you'll probably be mortified by the spelling in your post below. That was barely readable!

Not a MS
by: Anonymous

I think your post pretty much says it all about your business - very professional response. Perhaps you don't even know your own breed? Let me help you.
From the AKC website on the Miniature Schnauzer:
"Color
The recognized colors are salt and pepper, black and silver and solid black. All colors have uniform skin pigmentation, i.e. no white or pink skin patches shall appear anywhere on the dog."

From the American Miniature Schnauzer Club:

http://amsc.us/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=120&Itemid=45

http://amsc.us/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=80&Itemid=45

If you are a promoting these colors not recognized by the breed standard, you are not a serious ethical breeder, you are a charlatan out to make an easy buck off the unsuspecting; shame on you! Unfortunately it's backyard breeders like you that give all breeders a bad name!

Not a true MS
by: Anonymous

Liver-colored miniature schnuazers are not purebred MS. No reputable breeder breeds/sells chocolates, livers, or partis. There are only three colors recognized in the US - salt & pepper, black & silver, and solid black. White is allowed in some countries, including Germany, but not in the US. Breeders who sell these "rare" colors are just backyard breeders bastardizing the breed for profit. If you're going to purchase a mini schnauzer, do your homework first and purchase from a reputable breeder who follows the Mini Schnauzer Club of America's "Code of Ethics"!
