Jax - The light of my life

My little bundle of joy's name is Jax. He is my first miniature schnauzer. I have always owned German Shepherds and large breed dogs.
For the last 9 years our household has consisted of only my husband and me. I had no idea how empty our home was until we bought Jax. He is the child we never had. He was easy to train from the beginning and always eager to please. He will roll over on command, shake and give kisses when asked. He loves his daddy but is definitely a momma's boy!
I cannot sneak out of the room without his notice. He must be included in whatever is happening. During my morning treadmill runs he stands at the side, intently watching my progress. During a recent run he discovered that if he drops his stuffed toy on the belt it will propel the toy to the back and off the machine. In an instant he created his own game of fetch. He repeatedly drops the toy and dashes to the back of the treadmill to grab it as it comes off the moving belt. He will walk on his hind legs almost the length of our hallway for a treat.
He has added immeasurable joy to our lives in ways I never thought possible. I could not imagine preferring another breed now that we've become acquainted with this little guy!
