Gandalf joined the family three years ago. We found him in a puppy mill in central texas without air conditioning or a yard. It was about 90 out and he hadn't had a haircut... ever! of course he was adorable anyway. He was extremely shy and wouldn't let anyone touch him. We took him home and it was a bit of an uphill walk to take care of him for a few months because we discovered he had a horribly advanced ear infection and wouldn't allow anyone to touch his head. he also had a food allergy so his fur was very thin and his eyebrows were scabby and sore. We were advised to put him down due to his health conditions but we couldn't bear to part with the little fellow.
Now, after three years he is well adjusted and healthy, although still very reserved with strangers. He has received obedience and agility awards and is training to be a therapy dog at our local pediatrics hospital! He is almost four now, and as always loves cherry tomatoes and hates blueberries. He won't sleep without his stuffed lobster from his puppy days and he loves to lick pillows and sheets. silly dog.....
