Foundering Fritz Found A Fine Family
Opened the drapes in the living room two mornings ago and saw the porch glider swinging. Then I went outside to feed the German Shepherds and saw a pitiful malnourished Schnauzer puppy cowering near the pump-house. Upon kneeling and calling, this emaciated bundle of fur ran to me and jumped into my arms. One eye swollen shut with stickers, caked with dirt and missing most of the fur on his back, I took him inside. He slept for hours and then was given a bath, food & water.
Two days later, "Fritz" has more energy than a power plant and is busy teething through as many chew toys as we can find for him -- and getting to know our other two Schnauzers. How he found us (Schnauzers are not a common breed here) is a miracle. One became two (she was adopted too!) then three.
As "Meine GroBmutter" would have said:
"Gott im Himmel, das ist Mirakel"
(God in heaven, it's a Miracle)
