Cubby Bear Michaelsen

Miniature Schnauzer Cubby Bear Michaelsen
It was a cold January evening in Chicago when Kim & Eric Michaelsen took their three daughters out for their youngest daughters 13th birthday. We girls were confused when we pulled up to a house and not a restaurant. Needless to say Rebekah got what she wanted for her birthday... a puppy. This puppy was not just any puppy, he was the newest edition to our family. Cubby Bear Michaelsen was named as soon as we all got back into the car to take him home. We had never had a pet before. Being die hard Chicago Cubs baseball fans, we had always planned on naming our future dog Cubby.
Cubby is now 4 years old and is very active. He is always waiting at the front door and excited to see his family when we come home. Cubby loves to chew and play with his blanket. He gets a blanket for his birthday and Christmas and we tie it into knots so he can chew on it. As soon as he chews through his birthday blanket it is time for Christmas! After hours of excessive chewing and playing catch with his blanket, Cubby loves to take naps.
Cubby is gentle and loving, but being German, he loves his space. He is not a big cuddlier, but can sense when one of us has had a bad day. Cubby loves being the protector of the family although he is all bark and no bite! He performs tricks before receiving a treat. He knows how to sit, lay down, dance, give a high five, and now knows how to roll over! Besides minor anxiety during thunderstorms, Cubby is the best friend one could have!
