Mini Schnauzer Hal relaxing by the pool

Hal is our seven year old Mini Schnauzer who is the love of our family. As a divorced mother of two teenagers, we had never had a pet (with the brief exception of a snake!). When I met my now husband he was waiting to choose a Mini Schnauzer from a litter in Fresno, CA. It wasn't long after little Hal came to live in Roseville that all three of us were hooked. Now both kids say they will never "not own" a Mini!

Like most Mini Schnauzers, Hal does not like to swim, he barks at the pool like it is his enemy, chases us around as though we will drown if he leaves us alone. Hal does however like to spend a little down time by the pool in our lounge chairs. This picture is Hal relaxing by the pool one July afternoon...freshly groomed, and happy, that's our Sunning Hal!

I am jealous...I wish Hal liked to swim, it would be so fun for us. But, that's okay, in every other way he is just perfect! Thanks for the comment!

He's very handsome !! I have two 1 year old Mini littermates, who actually love the pool ! They both dive in, swim around a little and head for the pool stairs only to turn around and dive right back in... They do get tired eventually and crash on the lounge chair.. It's great exercise for them...

I agree there is no other breed for me... we love em and they always make us smile..
