When our pup Bruno turned 2 y/o he started showing a strange behavior. He is very social and sweet, he loves to greet, smell and play with almost any dog. (he doesn't like french pugs) People very frequently remark how sweet and quiet he is as he doesn't bark (!) (yes, I know we won the lottery, he will only bark when he loses a toy under a piece of furniture and needs help to retrieve it.
When we meet other dogs he socializes normally, always very sweet and playful, but when it is time to go on our way, he will lash out at the dog he was playing with. Have no idea how to stop this, as it happens in half a sec. I've tried having the other dog leave first: same result a vicious lashing that is SO out of character for him.
I noticed he does this on a leash and also when I hold him. If I pick him up, he will start growling at the dog he was playing with a second ago.
