My Petie, My Love

Petie was my nine year old AKC Mini Schnauzer and service pal. She was very intense and caring about my diabetes and taught herself how to detect ketones. She would constantly smell my breath and paw me when my blood glucose was dropping. It was remarkable and she saved my life twice.
Petie never did like her picture taken and if it was taken, and always looked so serious when it was. She was the perfect companion, always obedient, loving and the most honest and best friend anyone could have. She was known and loved by so many people in our town. When the school bus would drive by and the children would see her, they shouted her name. Petie was my love and constant companion. She was cute and funny with lots of real personality. Check out her eyelashes; why they are over an inch long. She was such a diva!
