Ruby has been the pride and joy of our life. She is almost 1 year old now. She is so smart, a quick learner, energetic, affectionate and a wonderful companion to have around our house. She started performing her tricks at a very early age. She is eagerly learning obedience commands.
I can't believe that I can take her up on our hill, drop the leash, tell her to wait, go down the hill and call for her to come to me without her being distracted or running off to other wildlife on the property. Now that's focus for you! She loves to play hide and seek with us. She gets along with our two cats, they all are about the same size.

It's darling to watch them all nestle in and sleep together peacefully. She loves her walks. We were lucky that we didn't get a barker as I have heard schnauzers tend to be barkers. She will only bark to alert us as she is very protective. She loves other dogs and can't wait to play with her doggie friends. Quite sociable.

I believe schnauzers are one of the smartest breeds around. We feed her Blue Seal Adult Dog Food because it has a 10% fat content and you have to be careful not to exceed fat levels for this breed or you can encounter health problems. I groom her myself, bought all the professional tools, she prefers me over a professional groomer anyhow because she is comfortable with me and the process. She loves to travel with us and enjoys meeting new people and experiencing new adventures. Wouldn't have it any other way. Now we go to outings that are "dog friendly" or we don't go. She is part of our family and belongs with us wherever we go.
