Evie’s Addiction

This is our Little Miss Evie T. She turned 6 yrs old this month, but still she still acts like a puppy. She continues to bring us so much joy. But she has a problem. She is an addict. Her drug of choice is a ball, any ball, but especially tennis sized balls. Her two favorite things are eating and playing ball. We can’t walk by kids in the park who are playing baseball, football, volleyball, or soccer that she doesn’t want to be in the middle of it. If we play fetch with her, she will always bring it back so we will throw it again. I have those white, wool dryer balls for my dryer. She sits in front of the dryer and watches them go round and round. She waits for me to come open it hoping one will fall out so she can capture it! She stands by the cabinet we keep her toys in, and does her circle dance; indicating she wants her toys. She does the same in front of the fridge when she’s hungry, which is always. She pushes her balls under furniture, which puts them out of her reach, then looks at us as if to say, “Are you gonna get that for me; you can see I can’t reach it!” If we don’t react in a timely manner she barks at us! I think it’s the thrill of the chase and ultimate capture that excites her. I thought I’d share a few pictures of her enjoying her obsession. Also if there is anyone else out there who lives with a schnauzer who suffers from this addiction, maybe we could all start some sort of recovery group. (LOL)
