Bodie - We Will Love You Forever

Miniature Schnauzer Bodie

Bodie was our wonderful Miniature Schnauzer who died of congestive heart failure this past weekend. He was only nine years old. Healthy and energetic, he loved car rides and chasing cats--so he could lick them. He loved to howl like a wolf and rest his chin on my ankle.

We have had an Aussie and a Cattle Dog--but Bodie was the most loyal and loving dog we have ever known and our lives will never be the same without him.

Good journey, Bodie. I pray that you will wait for us.

Sweet face

Very sweet look to Bodie. I really understand your pain as we lost our Lucy this past weekend. She passed over the Rainbow Bridge in my arms, too. She hung onto the bitter end for me to get to her. I was flying into Orlando and my mom picked me up with Lucy in the car. She wasn't responding to me but she was still warm. I saw her last breath and then she became colder and limp. I know how you miss Bodie. Maybe Bodie and Lucy are playing with each other now. Hope they find each other until we can join them :-)

Than You All So Much

I can't thank you all enough for your heartfelt condolences. Your very personal stories and comments have been both heartbreaking and helpful. I guess I just didn't realize what a powerful presence Bodie was in our home. Even as I write this, I am missing him going from room to room checking on our well being before finally settling down for the evening.

Here's to Rocky, Abby, Bridget, Macy, Brille, Izzy, Oscar, Casper, Rebel, Ringo, Obie, and any other Schnauzers I missed--and to their owners who by all indications are all just as wonderful as the dogs they loved.

RIP Bodie

I am so sorry for your loss. There is no other breed quite like a schnauzer. We got our Kaylee when my husband retired and she is the most loyal loving pet we have ever owned. I know we will be crushed when her time comes. Hugs just long strong hugs. Bodie is now waiting on the other side of The Rainbow Bridge.

R.I.P Bodie

I offer you all my love and know how you feel, as I lost my two Schnauzers.. Rebel 1 of Kidney Failure in June 2005 age 11 only.. he was poorly for only 4 days and passed over to Rainbow Bridge in my arms.. Ringo in November 2010 of just age.. as he was 15.. also at home on my bed having a last cuddle.. I miss them so much.. but I do have Rebel 2 a beautiful black & silver, he knew Ringo and they loved each other.. Rebel 2 is now 6 years old.. so apart from having Rambo an Australian Silky I also have Benji .. he's 2 ..and he's salt and pepper..they are my life as I lost my hubby in January 2011..
I hope you get another Fur Baby soon.. as it will fill your void… lol xx

I'm really sorry about Bodie. We just last our Rocky , who went outside and never came back in. We miss him . It will be a year in Aug. We now have Fritz, a parti schnauzer. He is helping to fill the void, but we still think of Rocky. We will always love him.

I understand your pain. It does get easier with time but you will never forget the happiness and love that was given to you by a special family member. My Brillo was 13 and he was part of our family since 8 weeks of age and I will always love him. Are dogs are forever in our hearts. May you find comfort with happy memories.

Our heart aches for you. It hurts so bad. We lost our Mini after 8 years and we were absolutely devastated. Words cannot explain the pain that you are feeling now. Our advise - GRIEVE and eventually move on to provide a loving home for another schnauzer. Bodie will be glad you did.

I am so very sad for you tonight. It's so hard to lose a member of our family and that's what these babies are. I lost my heart on January 10th when our sweet schnauzer Izzy left us. She was only 5. I will never forget her. She was a special dog in every way. It left a huge hole we have filled with Sophie & Gracie who are 5 months old now. But, we will never forget our first schnauzer baby!

the Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
