A Tribute to Miniature Schnauzer Leopold

by Kory
(Saskatchewan, Canada)

Miniature Schnauzer, Leopold

Miniature Schnauzer, Leopold

I first met Leopold and his sister Natasha when I first met my friend Joanne in 2001. The little bundles of joy were born in February 1996. I never knew anything about miniature schnauzers before, but I sure learned fast. Especially when I realized I was being manipulated. I hated when I found out that a schnauzer is smarter than I am.

Leo and Natasha brought so much joy to us, and everyone they ever met. Sadly, Natasha passed away in the Fall of 2003. We thought Leo would die of a lonely heart. It took him over 9 months to return to his wonderful self.
I must mention that Natasha, when you looked in her eyes, had an old soul. And I miss her.

Leopold passed away 24 February 2010, just 10 days after his 14th birthday, from age and complications from diabetes.

I just can't say in words how very very much I miss both of them. I'm heartbroken, and my friend Joanne, well, I think you all know how she feels.

Thank you for having this page for all of us to express our grief.

I pray that when I/we pass on, that they are there to greet us.

Sweet Leopold
by: Cheryl

I am so sorry for the loss of your handsome boy Leopold. I lost my Jake, who I had for 15 0f his 17 yrs on Feb 3, 2010. As each year passed I knew our time together was growing shorter but except for his being deaf, and missing a few teeth, he was in pretty good health. I have adopted another miniature schnauzer from rescue, as I did Jake, which helped with missing him but Fritz has his own personality of course and I still miss my funny guy Jake. I hope time has helped give you healing and peace......

Our babies
by: John

So sorry for your loss. We lost our Tia 2 days prior to yours. It is all the little things that one notices in the days and weeks following their passing, and we miss them terribly. The things you do for the first time without them, but it is also in these little things that we get comfort and remember our little ones. Just know this, they are happy and pain free and anxiously awaiting our arrival to greet us as we enter our Heavenly home. God Bless you and give strength to carry on. Thank you for sharing your story.

Thank You, Sue
by: Kory

I went out to the backyard today for the first time in a couple of days, and seeing his little paw-prints in the snow just made me choke up again.
He loved snow. He loved to "snowplow" and always romped. I think, maybe, maybe someday I'll not hurt as much. Thanks again.
