Miniature Schnauzer - AKC Breed Color and Coat Requirements
Miniature Schnauzer Coar & Color
Double Coat: wiry outer coat; soft, close under coat
Head, neck, and body coat should be plucked - not clipped
Furnishings are thick - not silky
Close coat covering on neck, ears, and skull
Accepted coat colors: salt & pepper; black & silver; solid black
Schnauzer gait - forelegs have good reach; hind legs have strong drive; legs remain straight during movement
Size limits: 12" to 14" top of withers to ground.
The colors of the Miniature Schnauzer may only be solid black (the only solid color allowed), black and silver or salt and pepper. The body should be plucked over the head, neck, tail, ears, body and chest so that it is the proper length and creates the hard wiry overcoat texture for judging. note: A clipped coat is not allowed in the show ring.
