Miniature Schnauzer Pepper

I had always wanted a miniature schnauzer, so when I had the opportunity to get one, I jumped at the chance. It was love at first sight when I saw her. She was almost 7 weeks old...a little silvery ball of fur with a big black nose. I had to have her, and appropriately named her Pepper. She was spoiled pretty much from the time I got her home. She loved everyone and had a special fondness for children. She also had a special fondness for pacifiers and would steal them if she could. She was always sweet and playful and was an excellent watchdog. I had thought of getting another dog for her to play with. So the last 3 years of her life she got to spend with Katy...a Boston Terrier who was pretty much unwanted. Pepper and Katy became 'besties' and were always into something. They didn't really do anything bad per se, they just used to run around and chase each other. Sometimes these chases were in the middle of the night or early in the morning, but we would just laugh and let them have fun. I had just started my job when Pepper got sick. I didn't think she was as sick as she apparently was, but she went peacefully in her sleep. It broke my heart and even though its been 2 years, I still miss her as if it happened yesterday. I know she is still here in spirit with us and knows we will always love her. My son made her a heart shaped gravestone and we buried her with some of her favorite things...her towel, some of her toys, and her collar. I have had lots of dogs, but Pepper was a one of a kind.
