Pepper Silky Terrier

by Linda Barrette
(McKinney, TX, USA)

Dear Pepper,

On that April day, when the rain was pouring, we found you wandering on a very busy highway. You were blind, had horrible teeth and were hungry. When we picked you up, the first thing you did was give us kisses. You had just imprinted your paw on my heart.

We adopted you at the young age of 11 and you had cataract surgery. I will always remember the day you came out of the hospital and you could finally hear AND see me. You were so happy and covered me with kisses. That was worth millions. You were my shadow Pepper Boy, a busy body, following me around everywhere I went. All you wanted was to be with mom and to eat!

We adored you and affectionately nicknamed you "Buns of Steel", as you would walk around and followed me constantly. You were the most lovable and loving boy. On September 24, 2007, you told it was time for you to go and join your siblings sisters Silky, Sheree, Precious, Suyin and Onyx.

Could you believe I still hear you bark for food, Pepper? I do. I miss my Pepper Boy. We will be together again and you will follow me around forever my boy
