Miniature Schnauzer Audrey

Audrey is our second dog, we adopted her a little over a year ago. She came from a home that the young man was never home and kept her caged up 5 out of 7 days for up to 10 to 12 hrs a day. We know this because he was a co-worker with my daughter and we live around the corner from them. One day he asked my daughter if she could go let Audrey out to go to the bathroom. I asked the young man how often was Audrey caged up? and he said a lot because he couldn't trust her not to pee or tear the house up.

So I told him that if he was gone that much he could bring Audrey to our house and I would watch her until he decided to return. Well I was talking and talking to my daughter to let the young man know that if he didn't want Audrey that we would be more than happy to take her. What you don't know is we never seen Audrey before but we knew we couldn't leave her there to be mistreated like that. Two weeks later our Audrey came to stay at her furever home.

We immediately got rid of the wire cage and got her a soft plush doggie bed. The dog bed looks real nice sitting alone and unused in our home because Audrey has taken over our chair in the living room and our bed at night =)

And that young lady has NEVER tore anything up in the house,or peed in the house.

Audrey does have a vocal issue(he he) and she did have a trust issue. She didn't know that she wouldn't be beaten when she didnt come to you right away or quit barking.

It took Audrey a couple of months to understand that things had changed. She now understands that if she is just a little slow in responding for her to come here ,or just has to get in one last word on the subject , Mom and Dad understands.

I don't know how we ever got along without our princess.
