Miniature Schnauzer Jake

We adopted Jake when he was 4 1/2 years old. Jake was our coolest Schnauzer (we are on #4). I think rescue dogs know how lucky the are an really enjoy life. Jake developed back problems at about age 10. We got him a kart which he was never fond of but he loved the stroller. I loved the reaction when people realized it was a dog in the stroller not a child. Miss you Jake.

Dear Lord, please open your gates
and call St. Francis
to come escort this beloved companion
across the Rainbow Bridge.

Assign him to a place of honor,
for he has been a faithful servant
and has always done his best to please me.

Bless the hands that send him to you,
for they are doing so in love and compassion,
freeing him from pain and suffering.

Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss.
Help me remember the details of his life
with the love he has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honor him
by sharing those memories with others.

Let him remember me as well
and let him know that I will always love him.
And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise,
please allow him to accompany those
who will bring me home.

for the gift of his companionship
and for the time we've had together.

for granting me the strength
to give him to you now.

i agree they in some unearthly way they know they been rescued;

the first time we took casper from the rescue
facility he sat on the back car seat as if he had ridden in that car,with the same people,all of his life....he knew he was going home;

jake was one adorable doggie.....you know,not even a mother loves you unconditionally like your dog does;
