How Does a Mom Pick Just One?

These are my three precious schnauzer babies, Grace, Sophie and Ferguson. They will be five years old on August 17, 2012. I flew to Texas to get my babies when they were just 10 weeks old. One of their first pictures is of them on the steps.

Ferguson and Grace are huddled together and are best buds to this day. Sophie is off to herself as she pretty much likes it most of the time…she’s my independent one! Grace is the smallest one and is a cuddlier. She would die for her mommy. Her favorite toy is a boat that I got her from Italy. Sophie is the alpha dog of the bunch and her favorite toy is a possum. She is my neurotic one but has found her softer side over the years. Ferguson is all boy! He is the friendliest and is very curious about everything. His favorite toy is whatever the girls have at the time. He likes the challenge of stealing it from them. Although they all come from the same litter, they definitely have their own personalities.

My son was married last year to a wonderful girl. I gave them a pre-wedding gift of a framed photo of the three of them saying they were available if they needed a couple of flower girls and a ring bearer. Although they loved the photo, having them in the wedding was a flat NO. Oh well…we tried.

The photo with all three on the arm of the couch was taken on their first birthday and the one with them in their MIT t-shirts is the most recent.

It’s wonderful to look back on these past five years. I am so blessed to have them in my life and looking forward to many more years with all three.
