A Tribute to Miniature Schnauzer Weazy

by April Kriete
(Guyton, GA, USA)

Miniature Schnauzer, Weazy

Miniature Schnauzer, Weazy

Weazy was my first dog in many years. Her mom was a miniature schnauzer and her dad was a mini dachshund. I begged my husband for a puppy after my aunt said she was giving them away.

I never met Weazy before she came to my home, but I was already in love with her. She was about 10 weeks old when she made the trip to my home in Georgia from Tennessee, thanks to my mom. She rode in my mom's overnight bag the whole way. She was so tiny that I didn't even see her when I first came home from work that evening. Mom had arrived awhile before I got home and was sitting in the kitchen, Weazy still sitting in her overnight bag by her feet.

Weazy and I quickly became inseparable. She was a happy ball of energy and always by my side. She loved to go in the car with me, no matter where we went. She even had her own car seat, which she thoroughly enjoyed because it allowed her to sit up high and see out the windows. I even took her into a car dealership with me once when returning the loaner, tucking her underneath my left arm. She didn't make a peep!

Because she had so much energy, we decided to enroll her in Doggy Daycare. She instantly loved it! And the employees loved her. She made everyone smile, at the daycare and during the car ride along the way. She was always waiting for me to pick her up and always ready to go back.

She left this earth way too soon, at age 1.5 years, but in that short amount of time, she touched alot of lives, mine being the most. Because of her, I've adopted two more dogs since her passing. Weazy opened my heart and she'll live in it forever.
